Permalink Back to Glenwood Springs

After Mount Evans, we decided to continue our annual tradition of getting out of town for the rest of the weekend. So we once again headed out to Glenwood Springs. This is our 3rd summer in a row visiting this mountain town. We hit the hot springs pool the first day and finished up the evening with a lavish dinner. Everyone crashed hard that night since we had been awake since 4:30 AM for the race. Here is my obligatory panoramic shot of the city from up high.

Glenwood Springs

The next day, we headed the the kid’s favorite spot: Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. This is an amusement park built around a set of caves. The caves are really the attraction but once you have seen them — you have seen them. So the kids got there wristbands on and spent the day running from ride to ride to ride. Usually, it is super hot and the lines are long. However, today, the lines were short and the weather was sunny, yet cool. A great day to spend at the park! The big hit there is always the alpine coaster. Lost track of how many times we rode it!

Glenwood Springs

Coming in 2nd was the maze. The kids did it over and over and over. Sydney’s best time was 6 minutes. I tried it once myself and got 4 minutes.

However, Peep found a new favorite thing! Why does she have that waist belt on? You will have to watch the video to find out.

Check out the live action!

Only one more small vacation to go with only the 2 little girls!

Then the 3rd one is going to pop out and join us for the fun!

Permalink Pool Party

Reagan demanded that her mother take a dip in the pool today to cool down.

Permalink Funshine Camp

Reagan had a 1/2 day camp today. Trying to keep her busy while her partner in crime is gone all week! Just as I do with the elder child, I tried out the video diary of the day. Sort of a ramble but you get the idea. Maybe.

Permalink Princess Dance Camp

The second camp of the summer is complete. Both girls were really excited about this one. Dancing, princesses, crafts… how could you possibly go wrong with an itinerary like that. I got to camp about 5 minutes early today to watch the last few minutes of dancing. They were playing freeze dance. Reagan seemed to be glued to Sydney at all times. I think her favorite part of dance camp was having big sis there with her. I hope those feelings last.

Permalink Dora Live

Reagan still loves to watch Dora and Diego. They are the classics for her. So when they were coming to town for a live show, we had to go. Reagan was a tiny baby being held in Mom’s arms the last time we saw Dora Live. So this was really her first time to enjoy it.

Dora

Like the costumes? It is a kid’s show so I figured wear whatever you need to. Reagan quickly dressed in her Dora outfit and was ready to go! Including the belly sticking out — just like Dora does.

Dora

Reagan really enjoyed the show. Hooting. Hollering. Yelling. Answering all the random questions the characters threw at them. We were in the front row so it was nice and close up. Seemed like Dora was there just for her.

Permalink Zoo Camper

The first camp of the summer is complete. Zoo Camp was an exciting week of animal encounters. Reagan was there each day for the morning. However, this week was wet and cold for a normal June week. But that worked out OK because the animals were out instead of hiding in the shade. By my count, this was Reagan’s first “big girl” camp given she was there every day. Each day after camp, there was a battle between the sisters to be the first to tell Mom and Dad what she had done. One highlight was petting the milk snake. She knows I don’t enjoy snakes so she was particularly proud of this. Telling me how nice he is and everything. Whatever!
