The big day is finally here! No more, “How many more days until trick or treating?” The girls were all really excited about dressing up this year. Time for the big costume reveal….Introducing Princess Peach…from Mario of course!
We started off our day early at our annual trip to the Denver Zoo for Boo at the Zoo. It is always a really crowded event but the kids don’t seem to mind.
This year we invited our friends the Sandovals along for their first trip to Boo at the Zoo. The girls always love having some friends along to share their experiences. And the parents love it because the friends factor keeps everyone occupied and less whiney. Here’s the whole gang dressed up and ready to go get some candy.
As we were heading out of the house this morning we realized that the Princess Peach costume was in need of some repair. Apparently, the leaf jumping done at Ben’s Halloween party last weekend caused the hem to rip out of her dress. So Reagan had to dress in everyday clothes while Mom did some sewing on the way to the zoo. In the confusion, Reagan left her Princess crown at home. Reagan did not feel as though her costume was complete without her crown so her day started off a bit grouchy. Luckily, hanging with your buddies cheers you up and she was quickly enjoying herself.
The rest of the day Reagan was posing for us asking for her picture. It think this has been her favorite Halloween costume so far. So she wanted to show it off. I have to agree. She looked beautiful!
After the zoo we went home to work on our pumpkins. Reagan requested King Boo from Mario of course. It was a little bit more difficult as I had to “skin” part of the pumpkin to get the whole effect. Wasn’t so bad. I think he turned out pretty cute. Sydney did her FIRST ever Jack-O-Lantern completely by herself this year. I think she did a pretty awesome job.
Trick or Treat, smell my feet……Here we come!
