Wild Animal Sanctuary with AHG

Today our troop had a fun family event scheduled at the Wild Animal Sanctuary. Our family has been to this place several times. It has always been a favorite of ours. Both, for the experience of the sanctuary as well as for the work this place does for unwanted large carnivores. So I thought it would be a fun and educational day for the girls of our troop.

Here are some of the gang here…

We were blessed with a beautiful day for the tour. It was cool but not cold so the animals were all out and about for easy viewing.

The Sanctuary had just finished their huge “Mile into the Wild Walkway.” This new walkway allowed access to many animals once out of view. It started in the welcome center and finished in the new Bolivian Lion Home. I won’t go into all the details here but the story behind it all is quite rewarding to an animal lover such as myself.

There were lions (caught in the midst of a yawn)…

Tigers (caught licking their lips)…

Bears (caught goofing around)…

Along as many other animals. Once again a fun time. We’ll be back again for sure.
