This week Sydney and Reagan choose to attend a summer camp in Boulder. It is one we have been wanting to try but have always put on the back burner because of the “hard core” factor of the camp. Reagan is off and on with trying new adventures so we didn’t want her to be absolutely miserable. Yet, this year she has turned a new page and was eager to give it a go. In come, Avid4Adventure summer camp. Each day of the week the girls are introduced to a different outdoor sport. But, the key to success this time around seems to be their camp counselors. One is super goofy and fun, just one of the kids. The other is more protective and sweet. They LOVE them!
Day One Activity of the Day: Mountain Biking
Her counselor said Reagan had a bit of a rough go with Mountain Biking. But, she was the youngest kid in the group by a couple of years. The others ranged from 10-14. I was told that even though she was slower she did a great job. She never complained and really enjoyed the day. Just felt a little out of the group being so far behind everyone. No worries, she always had a counselor to herself. They were great about teaching her the ropes.
Before the ride they started off with some team building games. They are going to be doing extremes with these kids all week so they need to get to know each other well. Reagan loves her group of kids. She always come home full of stories about what one of them said or did. Apparently, there are some really funny kids in the group.
I can’t tell you how happy we have been with this camp. The girls are both having an amazing time. They are having great new adventures. And truly loving every minute. Their comment when we picked them up, “I’m mad this camp is only 5 days!”
Oh, and how did we get these pictures? The camp takes photos throughout the day and stores them on a site for us to download. Awesome!
