This spring we decided as a family that we needed to hit the road a bit more. When we started going to Leadville, we only went to Leadville. It is nice to have a home base in the mountains but it closes your mind to anything that is too far from home. So we started looking at campers. We shopped for travel trailers. Then went shopping for 5th wheels. Then went shopping for new trucks to pull those heavy monsters. Then shopped for Class A RV. Then went back to trailers. Then someone finally told us what we needed because we didn’t know what we wanted. A Class C RV.
The kids and the dogs get to just hang out while we put the miles in up front in the cab. You have all the nice comforts of home. I can drag any toys, tools, and accessories I want. It has Wifi so it is like a mobile office. It seemed like the right addition to our family. The dogs agree. They stand guard when we get out and it looks like this when we return.
We had to take it on a test overnight to just see if everything worked. A recommended practice by the dealer before you try and go far away for a long time. We headed up to Estes Park. Not too far but close enough. Just to practice backing into a camp site, hooking everything up, and seeing what 101 things we need that we don’t have. It is a mini-house so you gotta outfit the kitchen, shower, bedroom, etc.
The kids enjoy the campground life. There are always things to do. Places to ride your bike. Games to play and more.
Dinner time. We have a pretty nice kitchen inside with our grill outside. Kim can whip up a meal that everyone will eat.
Remember, the dog mention? Yeah, they like it too. Riding around with the whole family instead of being at some kennel. That’s a good life.
